Super cheap, super messy and super easy. Plus did I mention all kids (and adults) love it?!
10minutes preparation, 1 hour in the oven. Joy.
Ingredients
- 1kg chicken drumsticks (free range if possible)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/4cup orange juice
Method
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees celsius.
- In a large stainless steel bowl mix all the ingredients except the chicken to make a marinade.
- Add the chicken and coat thoroughly with marinade. (Ideally you would cover with plastic wrap and allow to marinate in the fridge for the day, however marinating time is not essential if you are running low on time.)
- Line a large flat baking tray with baking paper, then carefully position the chicken drumsticks on it with legs facing inwards, allowing 2cm space between the drumstick meat section.
- Pour most of the marinade over the drumsticks and place in the oven for 1 hour, until chicken is cooked through when pierced with a knife.
